What’s good? I’m a Los Angeles-based writer, producer, speaker, and consultant who’s redefining the landscape of digital media.
As the founder of Extraordinary Ideas, I’m the co-host and producer of the popular podcast “The Extraordinary Negroes”, in addition to serving as a staff writer at the digital magazine The Root. As an in-demand creative, my work has been featured in The New York Times, Pitchfork, The Root, The Guardian, Huffington Post, South by Southwest, Bitch Media, CBS, and countless other outlets.
In addition to my creative pursuits, I use my multimedia platform to celebrate the accomplishments, opinions, and agency of marginalized groups, in addition to actively combating injustice, gender inequality, and the destigmatization of mental illness.
Additionally, I’m an accomplished speaker and panelist, and lend my insight and commentary to universities and events throughout the country, in addition to outlets such as Sirius XM, MSNBC, and NPR.
Much love,
Jay
